About Exchange

Exchange is…

Exchange is a Community Benefit Society focused on supporting a wide range of musical projects and creative endeavours.

Exchange holds two event spaces (250 capacity and 60 capacity), offering an adventurous and diverse program seven nights a week.

Exchange is home to various musical and creative residents – These include a Record Shop, Recording Studio, Gig Buddies Bristol and Offices for Local Promoters and Record Labels.

Exchange is a not for profit social enterprise that is owned and operated by it’s members.

Exchange is a space available to the Community and open to new ideas – alongside our gig program we have played host to intimate bar gigs, plays, brewery takeovers, rehearsals, workshops, pop up kitchens, flea markets, art exhibitions, book launches, talks and conferences.

History

Exchange opened it’s doors as a Live Music / Club Venue in August 2012. Since opening we have played host to a wide array of artists including The 1975, Haim, George Ezra, Rag n Bone Man, (the) Melvins, Four Tet, IDLES, Sleaford Mods and many more. The team behind Exchange had previously ran The Croft since 2007 and before that had experience running gigs, record labels, record shops and club nights including Replay Records, Invada, Espionage and Deadpunk Promotions.

In October 2018 Exchange ran a Community share campaign. 389 people invested and became part owners of the venue, helping to secure its future for years to come.
